Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835. His real name was Samuel Langhorne Clemens, he was an American writer and humorist. Twain began his career writing light, humorous works, and incorporated his real-life experiences into his writings, while commenting on humanity. His wit and satire, in prose and poetry, earned him praise from critics and peers. In 1865, his humorous story, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, was published and it became an international success.
