Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was an essayist, poet, and novelist. Despite his poor health, he traveled widely to acquire materials for his writings. His most popular works include Treasure Island, Kidnapped, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and A Child’s Garden of Verses.
