“Am I the finite body I am given or the infinite mind in it?” asked sage Atri
Namaha: Stories from the Land of Gods and Goddesses by Abhishek Singh brings together a collection of short stories inspired by the ancient wisdom literature of India. Stories that Singh believes to have traveled to us from a time where illuminated minds learnt from the forest and stars. Through richly illustrated visuals, Singh re-imagines Vedantic, Puranic, and Upanishadic texts, intending to take the reader right into the center of the conversation unfolding between the seeker and the source.
“Who am I in this great design?” asked sage Atri. Transcending conventional storytelling, these stories illuminate the reader to the realization that “You are all of it and nothing at all.”
“OM” is the sound of the universe, the Birth. ‘Shivay’ is the point of dissolution, where creation blends into the silence of nothingness, the End. “Namaha” is everything in between. The bridge between the mysterious origins of the beginning and the inevitable end. A place where all the beginnings one is born with, bleeds into a palpable substance called “Life”.
Just as eyes cannot see the intricate systems that sustain the miracle of life within us, there is a wealth of subtle and symbolic essence woven into these stories, only revealed when examined closely.
